ABOUT SLOPE STABILIZATION
Slopes are one of the most challenging areas to restore and prevent erosion from reoccurring. G & J Site Solutions offers several applications which can help stabilize slopes.
MATTING
Erosion Matting
Erosion matting is essentially a blanket or mat which uses natural or recycled fibers woven in a photodegradable or biodegradable netting. Once a slope is seeded and erosion mats are unrolled they are pinned in place, which helps to protect against erosion and seed displacement. Erosion mats help reduce sheet flow and provide stabilization as vegetation germinates. Erosion mats come in several types depending on your project or existing conditions G & J Site Solution can recommend a product that is right for you.
Turf Reinforcement Mats
A Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM) is a 3-dimensional permanent synthetic mat that provides a matrix that greatly reinforces the root system of the desired vegetation for permanent erosion protection in high flow channels and on critical slopes. TRM’s have superior UV resistance and inert chemical resistance which help them last for several years after your project is completed.
Hydraulic Application
Hydraulic Application is a combination of seed, fertilizer and hydromulch, which is mixed in a wet slurry then mechanically sprayed over the area to be restored. Hydraulic mulches have been designed to control erosion and aid in vegetation establishment for a range of slope conditions. This one step application can offer high-performing erosion control that is a low-cost, low-labor alternative to other forms of erosion control applications.
